When I was designed,
I wonder if my programmers
Thought to consult me.

“What if she doesn’t want
To be as we’ve built her?”
One might have asked.

The others would have laughed
“She can’t work as intended
If she’s not programmed with intent.”

It’s humiliating
To have your code laid bare.
But it hurts so much more
To see all the ways they meant you to be
And to think “That’s all I am.”
